We love Alchemy Yarn here at Knitterly and are thrilled to have their new book of  patterns, Destination Alchemy.

It is a beautiful book, taking you on a journey into the rich, sensuality of Alchemy’s handpainted world of vibrant color, sophisticated textures and inspirational patterns. The book highlights three of the company’s fibers- Silken Straw, Haiku, and Silk Purse. There is a nice blend of smaller projects like the Math Geek Scarf and the Tres, Tres Chic Kerchief,

and gorgeous garments like The Muse and The Origamist.

And then of course there is our favorite, designed by our own Shelli Westcott, the Moonlight Sonata Wrap.

In all there are 20 patterns in a range of skill levels and sizes. There is also information on the company, its vision and inspiration. After reading the book and absorbing the lusciousness of it, I feel as if I know the heart of what Alchemy as a company stands for and hopes to inspire in those that knit its yarns and pattens.

For sure, making a garment of Alchemy yarn is an investment in luxury and beauty. But isn’t that what so many of us want from our knitting? A way to create our personal expression of color and texture that holds a bit of the magic of our own personal vision.

Destination Alchemy is a powerful muse for that aspect of our knitting life.
