Hard to imagine sometimes when you are in the fiber flow, right? But there are those times when you want something different. A change of pace. Maybe something cute like this:

Pretty adorable, yes? He comes to the shop from Therese Laskey, author of Softies Kit: Instuctions and Tools for Creating 15 Plush Pals, and Softies: Simple Insturctions for 25 Plush Pals.

She sent this cute guy when Heidi won the Softies display comptition last fall.

Flipping though the book and kit, there are so many projects to have fun with. One might think that these books are just for kids toys, but not true. Sure, any kid would love these critters, but the child in all of us is sure to find something to capture our imagination and heart. Not to mention sparking the creative juices.

The kit comes with 15 project cards as well printed patterns and some supplies.

I think my favorite might be the ice cream sandwich.

The book and kit are full of ideas and projects to get your impriation flowing and well and tons of ways to use those small bits and pieces any crafter has stored away.  And of course there is the pure joy of seeing something come to life and spill open with personality.

There are times when doing another type of craft can bring new inspriation and fresh eyes to your work. So,  you need a yarn break, or even if you don’t, try taking comfort in some softies.
