Hailed as ‘the new miracle sweater’, Sandra McIver’s Swirl has taken the knitting world by storm. How is it that a one-piece, one-seam, circular jacket can fit so many silhouettes?

Each of the 18 patterns in knit, Swirl! combine details like arm shaping and collar depth with long revolving rows that make every Swirl a piece of moving art. Perfect for hand painted yarns like Noro and Alchemy, the design creates a subtle stratified look with variegated yarns. Using only basic knitting skills  a mixture of color, texture and pattern, you can create your  own piece of wearable art.

Sandra McIver is coming to Knitterly on Saturday, October 27th and bringing with her the entire collection of Swirls. From 10 am-12 pm, you can come meet Sandra, and get a copy of knit, Swirl! to have signed. Then try on any of the amazing samples to see which Swirl fits your personality. Sandra is teaching a class from 1pm -5 pm (which is already full, sorry!), but we’ll have the trunk show going all day!

We have plenty of yarn in stock for you to get started on your own Swirl. Try the Copper Collage Swirl in The Fibre Company’s Acadia; the tweed flecks combined with the subtle sheen of silk will make this piece one of your favorites. The Sheer Beauty could easily be made out of Canopy Fingering and Kidsilk Haze; the lace flows delicately in between the denser bands that appear to float in space. Winter Waves would look fantastic in Malabrigo Merino Worsted, the ridges setting off their kettle dyed colors perfectly. We look forward to sharing with you our love of the Swirl!
